Every year Puerto Rico is battered by storms that knock out the energy grid and leave first responders in the dark. With the support of Solar Responders, stations across the island are now implementing renewable backup energy systems. We created a short film and a photo series to share that story.

To date, the content has helped raise money to fund numerous solar installations across the island and is part of an ongoing fundraising effort to support Solar Responders’ mission. The photography series has been recognized by Communication Arts, International Photo Awards and Monochrome. The short film, The Switch, was released on WaterBear Network in May 2022.
